The science centre which is already in full use following the start of the school's term had the official opening attended by Dr David Blackburn OBE, the main benefactor as well as pupils and staff both past and present and all involved throughtout the project. The day began with tours around the centre before the opening ceremony, this followed by a lunch and then a 'nitrogen bomb' demonstration for children attending from local primary schools.
