Denstone College needed to provide a new sports pavilion and additional classrooms in a new Humanities department. The College is a Grade II listed building and the site was to be in front and to the side of the main façade. MEB Design Architects developed a design that interpreted the original building and provided 8 naturally ventilated classrooms around a central atrium.

The second phase of the matching teaching block development comprised the extension of the existing ‘Tookey’s’ classroom block completed in 2011, adding twelve new classrooms over two floors with a glazed link in-between. The rear parking area was redesigned to incorporate coach and mini-bus parking with a coach lay-by provided alongside the internal road facing the playing fields.

The building was opened by Sir Tim Rice.
